Lucas Distribution and Training

All of the Lucas 2 Chest Compression devices budgeted for in the grant have been awarded. Six regional trainings occurred around the state during the fall of 2015 and spring 2016. Smaller, local trainings were also conducted to distribute devices.

Currently, Master Trainers are working across the state to do follow-up visits with all EMS services who received a device. Hospitals are being offered “Turning Code Blues Pink” training for their ER and ICU staffs to teach how to incorporate HP CPR and the Lucas device into in-hospital arrests. Services that did not receive a device are urged to learn and incorporate High Performance CPR into their practice.

Services and hospitals can contact the Cardiac Ready Communities Program to schedule training on deploying the Lucas 2 device and learning HP CPR. Call 406/444-0442.
