E.V.E.N.T.
EMS Voluntary Event Notification Tool

Pursuant to discussion with the Emergency Care Council, the Montana EMS and Trauma Systems Section, in an effort to improve safety, quality and consistent delivery of Emergency Medical Services has endorsed the use of E.V.E.N.T. (EMS Voluntary Event Notification Tool).

E.V.E.N.T. is an online, anonymous reporting tool for EMS Near Miss, Patient Safety and Line of Duty Death Events.  The data collected will be analyzed and used in the development of EMS policies and procedures, as well as for the purpose of training, education and preventing similar events from occurring in the future.

This notification system is anonymous.  Individuals who submit information to this website cannot be identified. Individuals must not submit information that identifies any patient, EMS practitioner, EMS service, date of incident, location of incident, or any other information that may identify any of these entities.

Any individual who encounters or recognizes a situation in which an EMS safety event occurred, or could have occurred, is strongly encouraged to submit a report by completing the appropriate E.V.E.N.T. Notification Tool. The confidentiality and anonymity of this reporting tool is designed to encourage EMS practitioners to readily report EMS safety events without fear of repercussion.
