Mission Lifeline Montana
EMS STEMI Grant Application WebEx's

Funded largely through a Helmsley grant, Montana's Mission Lifeline project is focusing on saving lives by increasing the number of patients who are rapidly transported to hospitals capable of opening a blocked coronary artery. Effective treatments include percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and fibrinolytic therapy. Currently 30% of STEMI patients do not receive any therapy and many more do not receive therapy within the 90-minute timeframe recommended by scientific guidelines.

The goal of Montana Mission Lifeline is to develop and implement a statewide system of care to improve outcomes for every STEMI patient. Project strategies include:

  • Field 12-lead ECG units and enhanced ECG transmission capabilities in ambulances
  • Hospital ECG equipment and transmission capabilities
  • Training and education for EMS and hospital personnel
  • Ongoing clinical education and sharing of best practices
  • Protocols, policies and criteria for hospitals and EMS
  • Data collection for quality measurement and improvement
  • Public education and increased awareness of STEMI

Additional information about this project can be found at: Montana Mission Lifeline.

EMS STEMI Grants

Applications for EMS grants to purchase 12-lead ECG units, transmission capabilities (e.g. mobile hotspots) or other enhancements to assure that STEMI patient treatment and transports occur as expediently as possible are now available. Applications are online at the Montana Mission Lifeline website. In order to assist EMS services in the completion of the application and to answer questions, six WebEx sessions are scheduled. Scheduled for approximately an hour, these are all identical presentations -you only need to chose one that fits your schedule.
