Swimming Pools, Spas and other Water Features

Notice

New construction and remodels must now be reviewed by both DPHHS and Department of Labor and Industry Building Codes (DLI).  Please refer to the following DLI website to find contact information for the appropriate building codes official, Certified City, County, and Town Programs.  Contact the State Building Codes Bureau for projects being built in a jurisdiction that is not certified for swimming pools.

The Food and Consumer Safety Section is working to update Montana Administrative Rules for Public Swimming Pools, Spas, and other Water Features, Title 37 Chapter 115.  As part of this update, we will be adopting the 2015 International Swimming Pool and Spa Code (ISPSC).  This code has already been adopted by the Montana Department of Labor and Industry and is currently being used by both departments as the standard during plan review for design and construction of public swimming pools.  Interested parties may view or purchase this code from the International Code Council.
