The Environmental Laboratory is certified by Region 8 Environmental Protection Agency to provide analyses for the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), and also provides testing for the Clean Water Act (CWA), the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination Systems (NPDES) and the Clean Air Act, as well as for non-regulated monitoring. The Environmental Laboratory manages the laboratory certification/licensure program for local, state and commercial laboratories that analyze Montana’s public water supplies.

Laboratory analytical capabilities include inorganic, organic and physical parameter testing of samples with a variety of matrices, including water, wastewater, soils and sludge, fuels, vegetation, animal tissue, and air.  Microbiological testing is available for surface and drinking water.  Please contact the laboratory with questions concerning specific testing not listed here.
