Geographic Service Areas for Managed Care Network Adequacy

In accordance with 37.108.219 ARM, a health carrier offering a managed care plan in Montana must have an adequate network of primary care providers, a hospital or critical access hospital, and a pharmacy that is located within a 30-mile radius of each enrollee's residence or place of work, with some exceptions.
There are currently 54 Geographic Service Areas in Montana where it is possible to have all three provider types.
To determine whether a community is within a 30-mile radius of one of the 54 Montana Geographic Service Areas, please contact Leslie Howe at (406) 444-9519 or lhowe@mt.gov  for a map of network adequacy in Montana or web page link for calculating distance.
