Governor’s Advisory Council on Aging
49th Annual Governor’s Conference On Aging
The 49th Annual Governor’s Conference(s) on Aging will be held in two locations this year. This will provide a greater opportunity and accessibility for people on both sides of the state to receive important information and education impacting our Montana Seniors.
The Agenda will be updated frequently as presenters are confirmed so please check back often!
Presentations include a range of topics on Alzheimer’s, Housing and Renter’s Rights, Aging and Health resources, Medicare/Medicaid updates, Age Friendly Communities, Senior Scam Alerts, Financial Tools, Adult Protective Services, Hospice and End of Life Issues.
Honoring our Centenarians - Centenarian Luncheon
The tradition of recognizing our Montana's Centenarians at a special luncheon continues. Luncheons are scheduled for both Kalispell and Glendive locations during the 2017 conferences. If you are or know a centenarian that would like to receive a Certificate of Recognition from the Governor for being 100 years of age or older by December 31, 2017, please visit the Centenarian site.
Mini-Grant Sponsorship - Governor's Advisory Council
The Governor's Advisory Council (GAC) sponsors the Governor’s Conference on Aging and developed a mini-grant program to assist rural communities, fewer than 10,000 populations, who have limited resources and need some assistance in meeting a need for the elderly living in their community. The grants range from $200 to $1,000 and help facilitate supports for senior services in those communities. Mini-grants have been used for various things such as training and educational materials, exercise and health equipment, kitchen equipment for meals as well as developing and enhancing support services that are otherwise unmet in the local communities for senior interests or needs. The grant funds are obtained by sponsorships and a silent auction during the conference. These Mini-Grants are awarded during the Awards Luncheon. For more information and Application form (2017 Mini Grants) Applications are now available. Go to (Governor’s Advisory Council on Aging)
