Strengthening Families Month Activities to Kick Off Thursday, April 7 at the Capitol
Bright blue pinwheels to be ‘planted’
Lt. Governor Kristen Juras will join Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) Director Adam Meier, and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Montana (BCBSMT) Vice President of External Affairs John Doran for a Pinwheels for Prevention planting event on the Capitol north lawn Thursday, April 7, 2022 at noon.
The annual event will include the ‘planting’ of bright blue pinwheels on the north lawn of the Capitol. Pinwheels for Prevention is a national public awareness campaign built around the symbol of the pinwheel. The pinwheels are happy and uplifting symbols of childhood that convey the message that every child deserves a chance to be raised in a healthy, safe and nurturing environment.
The event is being held in conjunction with numerous Strengthening Families Month Activities around the state throughout April and the Week of the Young Child April 2-8.
Montanans are encouraged to wear blue throughout the month of April and share their pictures on Facebook using #GoBlue to show support of families and the prevention of child abuse and neglect.
