Improving Clinical Outcomes
The Montana Asthma Control Program is committed to helping healthcare providers in the state improve their clinical outcomes. This includes:
- Support the use of the Expert Panel Report-3 Asthma Guidelines.
- Assistance with implementation of a quality improvement project that aims to support delivery of evidence-based healthcare according to EPR-3 Asthma Guidelines in Emergency Departments (ED), hospitals, and clinics.
The program has developed professional materials and education sessions for participating facilities to use, free of charge. We can also provide a small grant to help with these efforts. Interested facilities participate on a voluntary basis. Learn about the MACP's QI activities with this factsheet.

Participating facilities receive the following:
-
A grant to be used in a year toward providing guidelines-based asthma services;
-
Support from professionals in utilizing their EHR software;
-
Potential for an extension of the grant after the end of the first year;
-
Onsite educational presentation(s) approved for continuing education credits;
-
Pre- and post-implementation chart review to provide site-specific feedback;
- Scholarships to the Big Sky Pulmonary Conference and the Asthma Educator Review Course: and
