Marijuana Program Testing Lab Information
The Department of Public Health and Human Services’ state environmental laboratory along with the Department of Revenue’s Cannabis Control Division provide dual oversight of marijuana testing laboratories in Montana. The state environmental laboratory is responsible for inspections, endorsements, and suspension of marijuana testing laboratories per the Montana Marijuana Regulation and Taxation Act.

The state laboratory must be notified when:
- Adulterated marijuana is suspected by laboratory samplers.
- A licensee wishes to change laboratories for re-testing or remediating testing.
- Changes in the scientific director listed on the endorsement.
Fees
An annual laboratory license fee of $5,000 shall be submitted with the licensure application to the Department of Revenue’s Cannabis Control Division prior to license expiration.
