Tobacco Prevention Advisory Board

In November 2002, Montana voters passed Initiative 146, which dedicated tobacco settlement money to a comprehensive, statewide tobacco use prevention program and created the Tobacco Prevention Advisory Board.

The board consists of 15 members, including four regional representatives, appointed by the director of the Department of Public Health and Human Services. Its role is to gather information and advise the Department on the administration of its Tobacco Use Prevention Program

By law, the board will terminate when the state no longer receives tobacco settlement funds.
