Montana Veterans,
Your Long-Term Independence Is Our Priority

The assessment explores trends in nursing home, domiciliary, and in-home support services, and informs planning for veterans' homes and cemeteries across the state.

In 2024, the Montana Legislature passed HB 566, transferring the lead role in conducting the decennial veterans' long-term care study from the Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) to the Montana Veterans' Affairs Division (MVAD). Under the new law, MVAD will oversee study planning, stakeholder engagement, survey administration, and reporting to the SAVA Interim Committee. DPHHS will continue as a consulting partner.
