Delayed Birth Certificates
If a birth certificate was not filed within one year of the birth, a Delayed Birth Certificate must be established. Please note that our office can only process delayed registrations for individuals born within the state of Montana and who are still living.
How to Apply
To begin the process, you will need to submit the following to our office:
- The Application: Complete the Delayed Birth Certificate Form.
- Supporting Evidence: Please include any original documents (such as baptismal records, hospital records, or school records) that serve as evidence of the birth.
- Note: All original documents will be handled with care and returned to you via mail once the process is complete.
- Registration Fee: A fee of $41.00 is required. This fee includes one certified copy of the new birth certificate once it has been processed and filed.
