Disability Advisors
Disability Advisors are people with disability that also have experience or expertise in an area of public health or chronic disease prevention. For example, a person who is Deaf/hard of hearing and is a survivor of cancer.
Disability Advisors serve on statewide public health planning committees and coalitions to amplify the voices of the disability community. They also co-present with MTDH staff at statewide trainings and conferences. Their role is to make sure that accessibility is prioritized, health equity includes disability, and barriers to health are removed with inclusive solutions.
