Background

  • MCDC provides the highest level of care on the health continuum for addiction disease working closely with community based state approved and private providers along the life long road of recovery.

  • MCDC is one of six facilities in DPHHS

  • One of three facilities in AMDD (Addictive & Mental Disorders Division)

  • Only state in-patient substance use disorder treatment facility

  • Originated at the Galen site and moved to the Butte site in 1993

  • The current Location was opened in February 2014

  • 48 Beds, including 40 treatment beds and 8 withdrawal treatment / medical beds

    • Consists of 3 buildings: women's unit, men's unit, and administration/detox unit.

  • Cost of treatment is based upon the ability to pay, services are approximately $400 a day

  • Highest level of treatment (acute) for the disease of addiction with special regards for low income and indigent residents of Montana

  • Annual budget of approximately $4.2 million dollars
