Linkage Wellness Workshops

The Linkage Wellness Workshops are for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are looking for support in meeting their preventative health needs. For example, yearly wellness exam, vision and hearing checks, cancer screenings, vaccines and immunizations, oral hygiene, mental health services.

Montana adults with disabilities sometimes have worse mental health, physical health, and chronic condition outcomes compared to adults without disabilities.

The most common problems are:

  • healthcare providers not understanding disabilities.
  • being denied appointments.
  • physical inaccessibility of buildings and places.
  • inaccessibility of equipment like exam tables.
  • inadequate insurance coverage.
  • lack of transportation.

Our job is to help with these problems so you can just focus on your health!

People who:

  • Have an intellectual or developmental disability.
  • Are 18 years old or older.
  • Live in Montana.
  • Are able to connect with a Linkage Coordinator on Zoom or by phone.
  • Have a health need and want to set a health goal.
  • Want to learn more about their health and get connected to resources.

During a workshop you will:

  • talk about regular health care and screenings that are important for you.
  • set a health goal and make a plan to meet it.
  • get support to connect with health services and resources in your community.

You will receive up to $50 for completing two sessions with your Linkage Coordinator.

MTDH hosts monthly Linkage Wellness Workshops and individual sessions.

To find out the date and time of the next monthly Workshop, email Linkages@mt.gov. One of our Linkage Coordinators will be in touch.

If the time of the monthly workshop does not work for you, we will schedule an individual session with you.
