Strengthening Families Month Mini-Grant
We are excited to announce that the Strengthening Families Month Mini-Grant Application is now open! These mini-grants provide funding to support activities and events that promote family engagement, resilience, and community connection during Strengthening Families Month in April.
Who Can Apply:
Community organizations, nonprofits, and partners that are committed to strengthening families and supporting positive outcomes for children and caregivers.

The grant proposals for local community-based primary and secondary child abuse and neglect prevention programs and services for 2026 is CLOSED. Scope of Work
During Federal Fiscal Year 2026 (October 1, 2025 – September 30, 2026), MT CTF will offer $5,000 grants to community-based organizations that focus on primary and/or secondary prevention of child abuse and neglect including increasing protective factors and decreasing risk factors for child abuse and neglect, and/or increasing community awareness pertaining to strengthening families and the prevention of child abuse and neglect.
Grant proposals must complete an application to be considered. Submit grant applications to MacKenzie Forbis at Mackenzie.Forbis@mt.gov by email or by using the Montana File Transfer Service by October 3, 2025. Grant proposals determined to meet eligibility criteria and the scope of work will be reviewed within 30 days, and you will be notified of the decision. Eligibility Criteria
- Grant award is for $5,000.
- Grants will only be awarded to Montana-based, recognized non-profit or other tax-exempt organizations.
- Grants will be awarded only for projects that do not require continual funding from the Montana Children’s Trust Fund.
- Grants will be awarded only for projects that align with the Scope of Work above.
- If funding is granted, the Montana Children’s Trust Fund logo and disclaimer must be used on all public awareness, including but not limited to flyers, public service announcements, press releases, and social media related to funded program.
- If funding is granted, a written report must be sent to the Montana Children’s Trust Fund within one month of the funded project’s end, to include numbers of children, individuals, and families served.
Multi-Year Grant Proposals
Montana Children's Trust Fund uses Montana Acquisition & Contracting System (eMACS) to issue RFPs. If a vendor profile has already been created for your organization, please contact the person who created it to gain access to the vendor registration profile. For security purposes, the State of Montana does not manipulate vendor registration profiles. For vendor registration questions, please visit the State’s website at https://spb.mt.gov/Vendor-Resources. When creating or modifying your organization’s vendor profile, select Commodity Code 2618 to be automatically notified by eMACS of future Montana Children’s Trust Fund solicitations.
