Director’s Office (DO)
- The Director’s Office (DO) provides leadership to, and management and oversight of, the Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS), to ensure an integrated, strategic, and transformative approach to serving Montanans in their communities to improve health, safety, well-being, and empower independence. The DPHHS Director’s Office is located at 111 N. Sanders St. Also located in the Sanders Building are staff from the Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities Division, Office of Legal Affairs, Human Resources, and Vital Records.

Early Childhood and Family Support Division (ECFSD)
- ECFSD promotes the well-being, health, and development of children, individuals, families, and communities through coordinated services and resources.

Public Health and Safety Division (PHSD), Health Resources Division (HRD)
- PHSD coordinates and funds the state's public health efforts, utilizing partners (like local/tribal health departments and health systems) to deliver critical services and support community well-being.
- HRD manages numerous programs, including Medicaid and Healthy Montana Kids, and reimburses private and public providers for a wide range of preventive, primary, and acute care services for eligible Montanans.

Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (BHDD)
- BHDD administers services to facilitate the efficient and effective delivery of behavioral health and developmental disability services, supporting Montanans in living full lives within their communities.

Business and Financial Services Division (BFSD)
- BFSD manages DPHHS's financial resources, using centralized professional accounting and operating support services to ensure timely, affordable, and effective delivery of health and human services. These functions help divisions and programs reduce costs while meeting the needs of Montana's most vulnerable citizens.

Child and Family Services Division (CFSD) Central and Region IV Offices
- CFSD provides critical services to protect children in Montana from child abuse and neglect. Operating 24/7/365 from 32 offices, the child welfare system's mission is "keeping children safe and families strong," striving for high-quality permanency and well-being outcomes. The Region IV office serves Lewis and Clark, Broadwater, Jefferson, and Meagher Counties.

Disability Employment and Transitions Division (DETD), 111 N. Jackson St. (Arcade Building)
- DETD supports over 20,000 Montanans with disabilities, providing services to enhance their economic and social well-being. Although they aspire to full social and economic participation, they face barriers to employment and independence, including negative attitudes, discriminatory practices, limited economic opportunities, and insufficient resources.

Office of Inspector General (OIG), Child Support Services Division (CSSD), Disability Determination Services (DDS), Senior and Long-Term Care Division (SLTCD), Technology Services Division (TSD), 2550 Prospect Ave.
- OIG ensures that all Montana healthcare, residential, and youth care facilities comply with required state and federal standards of care through its primary regulatory functions: certification and licensing.
- CSSD establishes and enforces child and medical support orders. Any parent or caregiver with custody of a child can seek assistance to establish paternity, and to establish, modify, or enforce a child support order.
- DDS determines the medical eligibility for Montanans applying for Social Security disability benefits, in cooperation with the Social Security Administration. Each claim is evaluated by a team of adjudicators and medical/psychological examiners who review the applicant’s medical and work history against federal disability and blindness criteria.
- SLTCD serves Montanans aged 60+ and individuals with physical disabilities. The division provides a continuum of services, including in-home assistance, nutrition, Alzheimer's/dementia support, legal aid, and comprehensive nursing facility care. SLTCD also supports long-term independence while protecting vulnerable adults from abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
- TSD provides 24/7/365 IT support for DPHHS and maintains over 185 critical systems and applications that support essential business functions. Additionally, TSD provisions, secures, and maintains over 3,200 personal computers and mobile devices for staff operating in more than 90 buildings across the state.

Human and Community Services Division (HCSD) Central Office, Helena Office of Public Assistance, 2021 N. Montana Ave.
- HCSD delivers economic safety net programs to over 200,000 eligible Montanans. These programs assist households with limited or no income in meeting basic needs (food, shelter, utilities, health care). Many require recipients to work or participate in work training/education to achieve economic self-sufficiency.
