Learning Objectives: 

  • Understand IgE-mediated vs. Bradykinin-mediated angioedema

  • Distinguish between simple asthmaticus, with/without hereditary angioedema, IgE (allergy) angioedema

  • Recognize patient presentation, inflammatory upper airway obstruction; identify root-cause triggers and probable causes

  • Recognize treatment pathways of angioedema, with/without asthmaticus

About the Speaker:

David Bérubé is a Flight Paramedic for the United States' largest non-profit air medical transport team. With twenty-four years of emergency medical services (EMS) experience, 17 years of flight medicine, and over 2,500 air transports, David has grown to share a wealth of experiences – treating the gravely ill and injured. David specializes in critical care transport and EMS education throughout Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. David was educated in Paramedic Sciences at Century College, and critical care at the University of Wisconsin. He went on to receive undergraduate and graduate degrees in Paramedicine from Creighton University.

December 7, 2022:  Asthma on the College Campus with Dr. Kevin Collins, PhD, RRT, RPFT, AE-C. Dr. Collins is a tenured Associate Professor of Respiratory Care at Texas University. He is also the current Appointed President-Elect of the Board of Directors for the Association of Asthma Educators. With extensive, hands-on, experience in respiratory care and the academic world, he has co-authored numerous published works. In this webinar learn about asthma on the college campus.

August 18, 2022: Athletes and Asthma with Dr. William "Bill" Picconatto, RPT, PH.D., ATC. Dr. Picconatto recently retired from more than 25 years instructing at the college and university level. Most recently, he served as the Kinesiology Chair and Athletic Training Program Director at Saint Cloud State University in Minnesota.
